Often referred to as the 'Venice of the East', the city of lakes Udaipur is located around azure water lakes and is hemmed in by lush green hills of Aravallis. The famous Lake Palace, located in the middle of Lake Pichola is one of the most beautiful sights of Udaipur. It is also home to Jaisamand Lake, claimed to be the second largest man-made sweet water lake in Asia. Assisted arrival at Udaipur airport and transfer to hotel for check in. Morning after breakfast, we load our bikes on bus/car and drive for approx 10kms. We unload our bikes and go cycling at the outskirts of Udaipur. Later visit of City Palace & its complex. The City Palace boasts of the wonderful blend of Medieval, European and Chinese Architecture and has various towers, domes and arches, which add to the flavour of heritage site. Later visit Jagdish Temple, dating back to 1651 AD, it is an exquisite example of Indo Aryan architecture. In the afternoon enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, is an artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir are located within Pichola Lake and have been developed with several palaces to provide views of the lake. Evening visit the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir, an Indian folk arts museum which has interesting exhibits that include folk's dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk's musical instruments, folk deities. Morning after breakfast, drive for approx. 60kms to reach the countryside to avoid Highway and traffic and then you can start Cycling from Sayra till Kumbhalgarh. En-route enjoy the The Kumbhalgarh Fort that has made its mark in history as the second largest wall after the Great Wall of China – it is none but the Kumbhalgarh fort in Rajasthan. The mighty fort is 3600 ft tall and 38km long that surrounds the area of Udaipur. It was considered to have been built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. The fort is further declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan. It is located strategically on the western Aravalli hills. On arrival check-in at hotel. Note: Last 5-7 kms is very uphill cycling so we prefer to load our bikes on car and drive to hotel but someone is really a cycling buff then we don't stop. (Total cycling of approx. 25-30 kms uphill)

Later in the afternoon visit the most famous Ranakpur Jain Temples with intricately carved marble Pillars and Domes. Ranakpur is amongst the five holiest places of the Jain community and exceptional in beauty. The camel, cattle & sheep herders – The Rebaris are an ethnic group only to be found around south Rajasthan and you will cycle to their hamlets, where you feel like a part of the bygone era. Kesar Bagh, Jojawar is a throwback to the laid back and indulgent life style of the bygone era. The present Rao Sahib of Jojawar – Maharaj Singh ji eager to restore the old traditions of the land and his family, recreated the new Kesar Bagh right where the old buildings once stood, but incorporated a few changes seeing to the modern times. The reversal of time feels so complete with vintage cars taking you for spontaneous drives, mustached butlers waiting by you in their starched bush coats, their turban tails flapping away in the evening breeze, the entire estate with its fruit trees and forest set amidst rural Rajasthan – and so far, far away from any major roads or development, that one cannot help but relax and rejuvenate in its charm. We start cycling early this day across lush millet vegetation and carpets of yellow mustard fields; in fact keep alert to see some amount of wildlife like deer, black bucks and camels. This is a fairly easy terrain to ride in so you can enjoy the vistas with ease and look forward to your stay at the hunting lodge, Sardar Samand Palace. An erstwhile hunting lodge, the palace was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1933. Set in tranquil surroundings of a lake, the low lying Aravalli hill ranges, vast shrubby forests teeming with wildlife, the heritage resort is a great stop. The old city circles the fort is bounded by a wall with several gates. There are seven gates, which include Jayapol (meaning 'victory'), built by Maharaja Man Singh to commemorate his victories over Jaipur and Bikaner armies. Fattehpol (also meaning 'victory') gate was built by Maharaja Ajit Singh to mark the defeat of the Mughals. The palm imprints upon these still attract much attention even today. Later visit Mehrangarh Fort; one of the largest forts in India, the beauty and grandeur of numerous palaces inside narrates a saga of hard sandstones yielding to the chisels of skilled Jodhpuri sculptures and to enter, seven gates have to be crossed. A collection of musical instruments, palanquins, furniture and cannons on the forts ramparts are well preserved. After that visit the royal cenotaph Jaswant Thada – This white marbled architecture is a memorial site of a Rajput clan. This cenotaph was built in the 19th century by Maharaja Sardar Singh in the memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the 33rd Rathore ruler of Jodhpur. Evening explore the Old city & Clock tower market. Morning after breakfast, we will start our cycling and head out along country roads across to Chandelao. Paved roads and relatively flat terrain mark the route. While cycling, visit the tribal hamlets of Bishnois and Prajapats. Bishnois are a strong agrarian community who lives on 29 eco-friendly commandments given by their founder. There have been stories where this community has made various sacrifices in saving the flora and fauna of the region.
